This illustration was inspired by The Rescope Project's forum on regenerative agriculture, and its enormous regenerative effect on broader society, at the 2018 National Sustainable Living Festival. David Pollock and Frances Jones shared their experience of de-stocking Wooleen Station in remote WA, the amazing transformation that followed, and the various challenges involved.
Farmer and author Charles Massey AO shared the stories and context of farmers across Australia and the world who are undertaking similar experiments, with remarkable results. Many of these are featured in his amazing new book 'Call of the Reed Warbler'.
Retrofitting the Suburbs
At the 2017 Ecocity World Summit, Permaculture co-founder David Holmgren joined The Rescope Project's Josh Floyd and the City of Melbourne's Kate Dundas for a conversation on retrofitting the suburbs for the energy descent future.
Hosted by Sam Alexander from the Simplicity Institute, David's 'alternative keynote' included an update on his four energy descent future scenarios, to be published in his new book due out in 2018. The scenarios and the responses from Josh & Kate inspired Rescope Project Illustrator Sarah McConnell's beautiful & detailed depiction of future energy systems in various real life contexts.
Threatened Species Day
Rescope Project Illustrator Sarah McConnell released a series of cartoons to mark Threatened Species Day in 2017, providing a poignant and humorous take on some of the perverse aspects of our current systems.

From the Consumer City to the Ecocity
Sarah McConnell produced this brilliant illustration of The Rescope Project's session at the Ecocity World Summit in Melbourne, in July 2017. Anthony James hosted a highly regarded panel, which drew around 100 people to engage in conversation about how we shift systems - from the 'consumer machine' to the 'ecocity'. Sarah's depiction of the conversation captures a real essence of The Rescope Project's view of the transition currently underway. Spend some time with this. It's worth it! Regenerating Society - The Illustrated Series
Our Illustrator Sarah McConnell has produced another excellent series, illustrating with panache and humour the public forums in the Regenerating Society Series that launched The Rescope Project in early 2017.

Bruce Pascoe in conversation
Published with kind permission from Bruce
Bruce is a highly respected, award-winning Australian writer with Bunurong/Tasmanian heritage. His most recent book, Dark Emu, is a must-read, reconstructing our understanding of Aboriginal and Australian history primarily through examining first-hand accounts of early European arrivals.
He has also eloquently shared his personal story in 'Andrew Bolt's Disappointment', outlining
his experience delving into this work, and the basis of his open, enquiring and all-embracing manner. Though it is through his presence, as much as his words, that he speaks - something of which has been beautifully depicted by Sarah's illustration.
